Habitat Project

In the Habitat Project, I’m creating complex cityscapes using white porcelain. The first and third photo is of the sculpture illuminated from inside.

Soap Bubbles (by Jonathan Haner & Teresa Holmberg)

'Soap Bubbles' (a collaboration between Jonathan Haner & Teresa Holmberg) is a permanent installation at the hospital in Skene, Sweden. Very intricate lace-like images burned onto varying sized ceramic discs. The images are re purposed and re organized bits of old etchings and drawings. These are just a few examples of the 40 discs installed.

Armé Des Enfants

Armé Des Enfants is a social art project started in 2009. There are approximately 250 white, plastic, featureless dolls in circulation all over the world. People have been using them as photo models in whatever way they choose and then send the photos back to me (which I post online). This collection of photographs has recently resulted in a spiffy photo book and is now available on this site. The exhibition/book release was held at Ifö Center in Bromölla, Sweden. A collection of short animations.

'Barnyard' is a collection of short animations. The imagery is created frame by frame using a combination of hand drawing and re purposed photos found randomly on the internet. I like to create dialogues, stories and interviews using audio clips from various sources (interviews, stand-up comedy, preachers, audio books, radio drama, etc.).

Concrete Explorations

Teresa Holmberg and I have been making concrete sculptures for a long time now. The fun part for us was exploring new techniques and integrating things we'd learned from other artists and trade professionals. We have also been teaching fiber-concrete workshops since 2007, as well as working together with school children to produce sculptures which become permanent additions to the playground.

The Chronological Erosion of Grandma's Id

A pixelated portrait of Svea Persson. The background is made of obituary notices of everyone she ever knew. These were found in a shoe-box beneath her bed. The last one was her own.
